Western intelligence sends an agent to the Soviet Union in order to identify the defense power of the country. With the **** of people hiding from the Soviet justice, the agent tries to fulfill his task. But the Chekists, who took control of the agent's actions, supply him with false data.

反特片，可圈可點的地方還是有的。片頭來了一位真實的蘇聯軍官訴說間諜的危害性，這位軍官還是本片的顧問之一；片子**部分以鏡頭的跟蹤象征監視，再與監視室的鏡頭以及畫外音剪輯到一塊也非常有意思，就像《行規》一樣。然而片子還是顯得冗長，尤其是展現國家軍力的部分顯得無關痛癢。
